“This artwork depicts a couple of migrants embracing, with the viewer’s gaze drawn to a woman wrapped in a survival blanket, a feminine image often absent from representations of refugees. The media more frequently resort to images of isolated young male refugees.

During a procession, a group of marchers carried a fresco, created for the occasion on wooden panels, to the iconic Col de l’Echelle. The event was organized in collaboration with the associations “Médecins du Monde” and “Tous Migrants” on the occasion of the International Day of Peace and proceeds from this print benefited the Solidarity Refuge of Briançon.”
